What DOES Midwifery care at Sunny Natal Involve?

Midwifery care is holistic — we care for your physical health, emotional wellbeing, and your baby, too. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, Rachel tailors her care to your history, values, preferences, and goals. Whether you’re part of a shared care arrangement or seeking to add extra support, each appointment is centred on you.

Through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, Rachel integrates education, monitoring, advocacy, and support, helping you feel confident, informed, and seen at every step.

Our Midwifery Services in Kiama

Whether you’re looking for ongoing pregnancy care, guidance through birth preparation, or postnatal support for you and your baby, Rachel offers a full range of midwifery services at our Kiama clinic.

Each session is designed to complement your existing care provider or provide standalone support for women wanting personalised, woman-centred care across the Illawarra and South Coast.

Postnatal & Newborn Care

Each session includes emotional and clinical review, mental health screening, and referral if additional support is needed.

Appointments may include:

  • Breastfeeding assessments, positioning and attachment help

  • Expressing and pumping guidance

  • Support for low milk supply

  • Mastitis and nipple trauma management

  • Formula feeding guidance where required

  • Prescribing Motilium or antibiotics if clinically indicated

Rachel’s goal is to help you feel confident, informed, and supported whatever your feeding journey looks like.

  • Soothing techniques and settling strategies

  • Safe sleeping and safer co-sleeping practices

  • SIDS/SUDI education

  • Adjusting to life as a family and supporting parental wellbeing

You’ll leave with gentle, realistic strategies tailored to your baby and your home environment.
